Puppy Purchase Agreement
This Agreement is entered into between Reign Pit & Bully Kennel (RPBK), hereafter referred to as “Seller,” and the undersigned Buyer.

All deposits are non-refundable unless otherwise stated in writing by Seller. At Seller’s discretion, deposits may be transferred one time to a future RPBK litter within twenty-four (24) months.
Except where required by applicable law or expressly stated in this Agreement, all sales are final and no monetary refunds will be provided.
If Buyer fails to complete payment, pick up the puppy, arrange transport, or maintain communication by the agreed pickup date, Buyer forfeits any deposit and Seller may make the puppy available to another approved home.
Puppy must be picked up or transported by ______________________unless otherwise agreed in writing. Boarding/holding fees of $25.00 per day may apply after that date.
PUPPY RESPONSIBILITY
Buyer understands and agrees to the lifelong responsibility of owning this dog, including proper emotional, physical, and financial care.
• To provide routine veterinary care, vaccinations, parasite prevention, proper nutrition, proper hygiene and nail care, and safe exercise.
• To avoid exposing the puppy to public areas until vaccinations are complete, typically around 12–16 weeks of age.
• To research and comply with all state, county, and local laws or breed restrictions.
• To maintain the dog in a safe, humane environment at all times.
PUPPY AGREEMENT
• Puppy will be dewormed at 2, 4, 6, and 8 weeks of age and will receive its first vaccination at 6–7 weeks. Puppy will remain current on age-appropriate veterinary care while in Seller’s possession.
• Buyer will receive applicable registration paperwork at pickup or via mail.
• “RPBK” must remain as the prefix before the dog’s registered name permanently, and the dog must always be represented as an RPBK production and may not be misrepresented as produced by another breeder.
• Buyer agrees to provide Seller with yearly updates and photos of the dog.
• If Buyer can no longer care for the dog at any time during its life, Seller must be notified immediately. Seller has first right of refusal to reclaim the dog at no cost to Seller or to assist in rehoming. Buyer understands this is not a guarantee of refund, reimbursement, or buyback payment.
• The dog may never be surrendered, abandoned, or transferred to a shelter, rescue organization, animal control facility, or third party without first notifying Seller in writing and receiving Seller’s written consent, except where required by law or in an emergency involving the dog’s immediate safety.
• Buyer may not sell, transfer, give away, co-own, lease, or rehome the dog without first notifying Seller in writing.
• If Buyer sells, transfers, gives away, co-owns, leases, rehomes, surrenders, or otherwise transfers possession of the dog without first notifying Seller in writing, Buyer may be considered in material breach of contract and may be responsible for any reasonable costs, attorney fees, and court costs permitted by law that are incurred to locate, recover, or protect the dog.
• Buyer agrees the dog will never be used for illegal, inhumane, or immoral purposes.
• Neglect, abuse, abandonment, illegal use, inhumane treatment, or failure to provide safe and humane care shall be considered a material breach of contract. Seller may pursue any legal remedies available, including seeking return of the dog where legally permitted, and Buyer may be responsible for reasonable costs, attorney fees, and court costs permitted by law.
• While Seller strives to place show and breeding-quality puppies appropriately, Seller makes no guarantee that any puppy will mature into a show-quality or breeding-quality dog.
• Seller does not guarantee adult height, weight, class, structure, head size, color shade, temperament, show success, breeding success, fertility, or production outcome.
• Buyer understands that ownership of a puppy involves risk and financial responsibility. Buyer agrees that all veterinary expenses incurred after the puppy leaves Seller’s possession are Buyer’s sole responsibility, except as expressly stated in this Agreement.
• Buyer agrees to keep Seller updated with current phone number, email address, and physical address. Buyer agrees to notify Seller within seven (7) days of any change in contact information. Buyer agrees that written communication, including text message, email, or signed document, may be used to confirm agreements between Buyer and Seller.
PET-ONLY AGREEMENT (If Applicable)
If puppy is sold without breeding rights:
• Buyer agrees to have the dog spayed or neutered by eighteen (18) months of age, unless otherwise recommended in writing by Buyer’s licensed veterinarian and approved in writing by Seller. Regardless of spay/neuter timing, this dog may not be bred without Seller’s written permission.
• Proof of spay/neuter must be provided to Seller.
• Registration papers may be withheld until proof is received.
• If Buyer breeds a Pet-Only dog without Seller’s written permission, Buyer agrees this is a material breach of contract. Buyer may be responsible for liquidated damages in the amount of $2,000.00 or the difference between the Pet-Only purchase price and the Full Breeding Rights purchase price, whichever is greater, plus any reasonable attorney fees and court costs permitted by law.
BREEDING RIGHTS (If Applicable)
If breeding rights are granted:
• Seller does not guarantee fertility, ability to conceive, semen quality, litter size, or ability to produce specific colors or traits.
• Seller makes no guarantee regarding show success or ability to produce champions.
• Any breeding arrangements must comply with all applicable kennel club regulations.
• If the puppy is female, she may not be bred before her third heat cycle and not before eighteen (18) months of age, whichever occurs later.
• If the puppy is male, he may not be bred prior to twelve (12) months of age.
• Buyer agrees not to breed the dog until the dog is physically mature, in good health, free from disqualifying genetic or structural concerns, and has completed breed-relevant genetic health testing through a reputable laboratory, with results made available to Seller upon request.
PAYMENT TERMS
• Full payment must be made prior to pickup or shipping.
• No puppy will leave Seller’s possession until paid in full.
• Buyer agrees not to initiate a chargeback, payment dispute, or stop payment after taking possession of the puppy. If Buyer initiates a chargeback, payment dispute, or stop payment after taking possession, Buyer may be considered in breach of contract and remains responsible for the full purchase price, any payment processing fees, chargeback fees, collection costs, and reasonable attorney fees and court costs permitted by law.
SHIPPING (If Required)
• Buyer is responsible for all shipping and transport costs.
• Puppies must be at least 8 weeks of age prior to shipping.
• Shipping arrangements must be mutually agreed upon.
• A health certificate will be provided at time of transport if required. • Seller is not responsible for delays, stress-related illness, or incidents once the puppy is in the care of the transporter.
HEALTH GUARANTEE
• Buyer must have the puppy examined by a licensed veterinarian within seventy-two (72) hours of receipt and must provide Seller with written proof of the exam upon request.
• If a life-threatening congenital or hereditary defect is diagnosed within one (1) year of the puppy’s date of birth and confirmed in writing by a licensed veterinarian, Seller will provide a replacement puppy from the next available comparable breeding, subject to the replacement terms below.
• This health guarantee does not cover parasites, worms, fleas, ticks, giardia, coccidia, kennel cough, stress-related diarrhea, hypoglycemia, minor treatable illnesses, injury, trauma, accidents, improper diet, environmental exposure, lack of veterinary care, ear crop complications, allergies, undescended testicles, bite changes, size, height, weight, color shade, coat changes, temperament, fertility, breeding ability, common non-life-threatening breed-related conditions, or cosmetic/structural faults that do not prevent the dog from living as a companion.
• To qualify for a replacement puppy, Buyer must provide written veterinary diagnosis and supporting records. Seller reserves the right to obtain a second veterinary opinion from a licensed veterinarian of Seller’s choice before approving any replacement. If Seller requires the second opinion, Seller will pay the cost of that exam unless Buyer fails to cooperate, fails to provide records, or the claim is found to be unsupported. In severe cases where humane euthanasia is recommended, written documentation from a licensed veterinarian must be provided.
Replacement terms:
• No monetary refunds will be given.
• Replacement is limited to one time only.
• Buyer is responsible for all veterinary and shipping expenses. Seller is not responsible for illness, injury, death, or worsening of any condition caused by negligence, improper care, accidents, lack of veterinary care, delayed veterinary care, improper quarantine, or environmental exposure after the puppy leaves Seller’s possession.
Except where required by applicable law or expressly stated in this Agreement, Seller shall not be responsible for veterinary expenses, emotional distress, incidental damages, consequential damages, or additional damages.
INCENTIVE TO BUYER
If Buyer earns a recognized title in a nationally sanctioned sport or conformation event with the puppy listed in this contract, Seller will provide one (1) puppy from a future RPBK breeding with the purchase price waived, excluding shipping, transport, veterinary, registration, and related expenses.
Terms:
• Proof of title required.
• Free puppy does not include shipping, transport, veterinary, registration, or related expenses.
• Puppy selection and breeding rights are at Seller’s discretion.
• Offer valid within five (5) years of original purchase date.
BREACH OF CONTRACT
• Any violation of this Agreement may be considered a breach of contract. Depending on the nature of the breach, Buyer may be responsible for actual damages, liquidated damages where specifically stated in this Agreement, reasonable costs incurred by Seller, and reasonable attorney fees and court costs permitted by law.
• Serious violations, including unauthorized breeding of a Pet-Only dog, neglect, abuse, abandonment, illegal use, misrepresentation of the dog’s breeder or registration, or transfer of the dog without proper notice to Seller, may be considered material breaches of contract. Seller may pursue any legal remedies available, including correction of records, recovery of costs, and seeking return of the dog where legally permitted.
FINAL ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
By signing this Agreement and/or submitting payment, Buyer acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agree to all terms of this Agreement.
Electronic signatures, scanned copies, and photographed copies of this Agreement shall be considered valid and binding as originals.
This Agreement represents the entire understanding between Seller and Buyer. No other representations or promises are valid unless in writing and signed by both parties.
GOVERNING LAW
This Agreement shall be governed by the laws of the State of Missouri.
Any legal action shall be filed in Cole County, Missouri. In the event legal action is necessary to enforce this Agreement, the prevailing party may be entitled to recover reasonable attorney fees and court costs where permitted by law.
